In this  technology based environment, searching for a new home and selling your existing home seems  like it can all be handled by yourself.  With a few hours , an internet connection and a click of the mouse, a buyer should be able to find his/her dream home and a seller will connect with a ready, willing and able buyer.  There are countless websites used to search available homes and to post your home for sale.  Other websites offer advice on market valuations so you know exactly what your home is worth or what you should offer in order to purchase a home.   RIGHT?  NOT EXACLTY! 

 

Unfortunately, the information received on the internet may not be accurate or up-to-date.  Websites offering  price valuations may or may not be in the correct ballpark since prices vary in each city, neighborhood and even by street!  If you are lucky enough to connect with a willing seller or to find a willing buyer, your work has just begun.  Most people's plates are already too full to start self educating and finding the time to perform these activities.  Your real estate agent performs over 100 different duties  from start to finish in a real estate transaction from pre-listing activities, handling offers and contracts, coordinating home inspections and appraisals and preparing to close escrow. 

 

Your real estate agent will also be your advocate - in your corner, with a fiduciary duty to look out for your best interests.  Obtaining representation takes the guess work and confusion out of the equation and arms you with a knowledgeable and trained professional to navigate through the ever changing real estate environment and reach your goal - buying or selling real estate.
